About the Test Centre

What to Expect at Colwick

Colwick is one of the two main DVSA practical driving test centres serving Nottingham. Tests are conducted Monday to Friday, with some Saturday morning slots available. The examiner will meet you in the waiting area, ask two vehicle safety (“show me, tell me”) questions, and then direct you on a drive of approximately 38–40 minutes.

H&E training is conducted on the actual Colwick test routes throughout your course — not just in the final sessions before your test. This means the roads, junctions, roundabouts and decision points are genuinely familiar on test day.

Mohammad Habib accompanies all H&E learners to Colwick on test day. A warm-up drive takes place beforehand on the test route roads to settle into the conditions on the day.
